Sovini Trade Supplies (STS) has cemented its reputation as one of the safest organisations in the UK after its parent company the Sovini Group won a top award.

Sovini was named the best organisation in its sector and in the top five organisations UK-wide at the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2016.

The Group surpassed the competition in the Public Service and Local Government sector and was presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.

STS is part of the philanthropic Sovini Group, along with One Vision Housing, Pine Court Housing Association, Sovini Homes and Sovini Property Services.

Phil Hutchinson, Sovini Head of HSEQ and Facilities Services, won the RoSPA Guardian Angel Award for his commitment to making Sovini a safe organisation for staff and customers alike.

Phil said: “The systems we have in place at Sovini help to ensure our customers and staff are safe at all times. Winning the RoSPA award is testament to the commitment to performance from everyone at Sovini and highlights the professionalism of the Group as a whole.”

The judges recognised Sovini’s overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Last year Sovini won the RoSPA Gold and Best New Entry awards.
